"UPDATE!!! Over a month later after cancelling my policy, the agency still has not refunded my money. They say they sent it (no tracking!). Maya has absolutely been no help. The owner has been absolutely non existent. I worked with USPS and they did not receive it. Photo evidence of everything sent to my house. Maya and the team had a complete lack of care and my missing $1,000. Called State Farm directly and they cannot help. State Farm literally stole my money, made this process a living nightmare and showed 100% lack of empathy. Started using State Farm for homeowners insurance and everything was fine. Submitted pictures and my home inspection, no issues. After weeks after my closing, State Farm is now claiming my roof is in bad shape. 60% of the roof is brand new and the other half is in GREAT shape. They said they wanted pictures. I sent them and now I get a call saying they are declining me unless I get a roof cleaning and take more pictures… IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. They don’t work with you, they’re extremely unprofessional and I should NOT be having this issue. AFTER they approved me and I paid. Now I’m stuck searching for someone else. They’re absolutely terrible people."

"Hi Matthew! My apologies that you had to go through this but it was strictly underwriting decision based on the third party inspection. We only bind the policy but there is a strict review process performed on the corporate level. It is partly due to increased number of claims due to lack of maintenance of properties. I am not implying that your property has not been in top shape, but insurance carriers, including State Farm, has become very strict with their criteria. Personally, I would like to write and keep all the business, but when decisions are made by the people above my office, we have limited options when it comes to appeals or reversing them. Once again, hope you can understand that there was no ill intention of bait and switch or anything like that. At the end, I lost a client - no one really wins here. Hope all works out and good luck with your home! REPLY TO YOUR SECOND ONE: My office and especially Maya has been very prompt with responses and trying our best to help you with this predicament. My office does not control refunds since they come directly from corporate office in Bloomington Illinois. I also do not control if the refunds have tracking number on them. Corporate uses USPS and no tracking but since you said you hadn’t received it, a stop was placed on last check and new check is on its way. Scott, my office manager, will be calling you shortly to go over details. "Why did you raise the premiums. My license is Clean and no DUI OR DWI,OR anything else.plus took a course. Unless you don't like older people! Just don't understand."

"Hi James, the reason why your insurance went up is because your renewal occurred after State Farm had a statewide rate increase approved by Insurance Division of NYS Department of Financial Services. That happened on April 29th. I hope you can understand that my office had nothing to do with that decision. It is made on corporate level along with State representatives. It has nothing to do with your driving record nor age. It affects everyone equally. Main driver is inflation. Please call my office and we can go to more details."

"I called this afternoon to find out why my bill had increased almost 20%!! I thought I was going to get an automated robot (as I always do when I call to get any type of information for questions I have). Instead, I got the best customer service I have received in a very long time. I spoke to Sierra Medwig - she was knowledgeable, kind and patient. She gave me several suggestions and walked me through steps on how I could save some money. From a Human Resources perspective (I'm in the HR field) these are the type of employees that we need to make happy and value them for the work they do. Sierra is definitely one of the best I've spoken to in a long time!!!"

"Although I had issues with my State Farm Auto Policy, Sierra Medwig did a wonderful job of helping me through the whole process. She was very patient and prompt with all of her replies.
